The 22-year old American striker is expected to be out for about two months.
"I feared the worst when I saw and heard the tackle," FC Dallas head coach Steve Morrow said. "Kennys a guy that fights through those things and I knew it was serious when he couldn't continue. Cooper, who leads the team with four goals and two assists, was fouled by Galaxy defender Tyrone Marshall in the 89th minute of the game and was carted off the field. Marshall was issued a straight red card for the tackle by referee Jair Marrufo.

Terrell Owens could return for Cowboys next game
